Tahlil

إِلَى حَضْرَةِ سَيِّدِنَا وَحَبِيْبِنَا وَشَفِيْعِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَإِلَى أَرْوَاحِ آبَائِهِ وَإِخْوَانِهِ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِيْنَ، صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ وَسَلَامُهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِيْنَ. وَعَلَى آلِ كُلٍّ وَالصَّحَابَةِ وَالْقَرَابَةِ وَالتَّابِعِيْنَ، وَتَابِعِ التَّابِعِيْنَ بِإِحْسَانٍ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ، وَإِلَى أَرْوَاحِ وَالِدِيْنَا وَمُعَلِّمِيْنَا وَذَوِى الْحُقُوْقِ عَلَيْنَا أَجْمَعِيْنَ — اَلْفَاتِحَة.

To the presence of our master, our beloved, and our intercessor Muḥammad ﷺ, and to the souls of his fathers and brethren among the prophets and messengers — may the blessings and peace of Allāh be upon him and upon them all. And upon the family of each, the companions, the relatives, the followers, and the followers of the followers in goodness until the Day of Judgment. And to the souls of our parents, our teachers, and all who have rights upon us — Al-Fātiḥah.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۝١ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ۝٢ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۝٣ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ۝٤ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ۝٥ اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ۝٦ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ ۝٧

1. 1.In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
2. 2.All praise is due to Allāh, Lord of the worlds.
3. 3.The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
4. 4.Master of the Day of Judgment.
5. 5.You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.
6. 6.Guide us to the straight path.
7. 7.The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favour, not of those who have evoked anger or those who are astray.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ۝١ اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ ۝٢ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ۝٣ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ ۝٤

1. In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
2. 1.Say: He is Allāh, [who is] One.
3. 2.Allāh, the Eternal Refuge.
4. 3.He neither begets nor is born.
5. 4.Nor is there to Him any equivalent.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ

There is no god but Allāh, and Allāh is the Greatest.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ۝١ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ۝٢ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ۝٣ وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ ۝٤ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ۝٥

1. In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
2. 1.Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak.
3. 2.From the evil of what He has created.
4. 3.And from the evil of darkness when it settles.
5. 4.And from the evil of those who blow on knots.
6. 5.And from the evil of an envier when he envies.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ

There is no god but Allāh, and Allāh is the Greatest.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ۝١ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ۝٢ إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ ۝٣ مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ۝٤ الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ۝٥ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ۝٦

1. In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
2. 1.Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.
3. 2.The Sovereign of mankind.
4. 3.The God of mankind.
5. 4.From the evil of the retreating whisperer.
6. 5.Who whispers in the breasts of mankind.
7. 6.From among the jinn and mankind.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ

There is no god but Allāh, and Allāh is the Greatest.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۝١ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ۝٢ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۝٣ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ۝٤ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ۝٥ اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ۝٦ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ ۝٧

الٓمٓ ۝١ ذَٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ۝٢ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ ۝٣ وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَبِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ ۝٤ أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ ۝٥

1. 1.Alif, Lām, Mīm.
2. 2.This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allāh.
3. 3.Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them.
4. 4.And who believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain.
5. 5.Those are upon guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.

وَإِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ الرَّحِيمُ ۝١٦٣

1. 163.And your god is one God. There is no deity except Him, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ ۝٢٥٥

1. 255.Allāh — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. He is the Most High, the Most Great.

لِّلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ وَإِن تُبْدُوا مَا فِي أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ يُحَاسِبْكُم بِهِ اللَّهُ ۖ فَيَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ۝٢٨٤ آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِن رَّبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۚ كُلٌّ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّن رُّسُلِهِ ۚ وَقَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا ۖ غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ ۝٢٨٥ لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۚ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا اكْتَسَبَتْ ۗ رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ ۖ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا ۚ أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ ۝٢٨٦

1. 284.To Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Whether you show what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allāh will bring you to account for it. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allāh is over all things competent.
2. 285.The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and so have the believers. All have believed in Allāh and His angels and His books and His messengers — 'We make no distinction between any of His messengers.' And they say, 'We hear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the final destination.'
3. 286.Allāh does not charge a soul except with what it can bear. It will have what it has earned, and against it what it has brought upon itself. 'Our Lord, do not take us to task if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not lay upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with that which we have no ability to bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.'

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ ارْحَمْنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ، يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ ارْحَمْنَا، يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ ارْحَمْنَا.

O Most Merciful of the merciful, have mercy on us by Your mercy. O Most Merciful of the merciful, have mercy on us. O Most Merciful of the merciful, have mercy on us.

وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ إِنَّهُ حَمِيْدٌ مَجِيْدٌ.

And the mercy of Allāh and His blessings be upon you, O people of the House. Indeed He is Praiseworthy and Glorious.

إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا ۝٣٣ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا ۝٥٦

1. 33.Allāh only wishes to remove all impurity from you, O People of the House, and to purify you with a thorough purification.
2. 56.Indeed, Allāh and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe — send blessings upon him and greet him with the best salutation.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ أَفْضَلَ صَلَاةٍ عَلَى أَسْعَدِ مَخْلُوْقَاتِكَ حَبِيْبِ اللهِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلِّمْ، عَدَدَ مَعْلُوْمَاتِكَ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِكَ، كُلَّمَا ذَكَرَكَ الذَّاكِرُوْنَ وَغَفَلَ عَنْ ذِكْرِكَ الْغَافِلُوْنَ.

O Allāh, send the most excellent blessings upon the most blessed of Your creation — the Beloved of Allāh, our master Muḥammad — and upon his family and companions, and grant them peace, to the number of what You know and as the ink of Your words, every time the rememberers remember You and the heedless are heedless of Your remembrance.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ أَفْضَلَ صَلَاةٍ عَلَى أَسْعَدِ مَخْلُوْقَاتِكَ شَمْسِ الضُّحَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلِّمْ، عَدَدَ مَعْلُوْمَاتِكَ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِكَ، كُلَّمَا ذَكَرَكَ الذَّاكِرُوْنَ وَغَفَلَ عَنْ ذِكْرِكَ الْغَافِلُوْنَ.

O Allāh, send the most excellent blessings upon the most blessed of Your creation — the Sun of Forenoon, our master Muḥammad — and upon his family and companions, and grant them peace, to the number of what You know and as the ink of Your words, every time the rememberers remember You and the heedless are heedless of Your remembrance.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ أَفْضَلَ صَلَاةٍ عَلَى أَسْعَدِ مَخْلُوْقَاتِكَ بَدْرِ الدُّجَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلِّمْ، عَدَدَ مَعْلُوْمَاتِكَ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِكَ، كُلَّمَا ذَكَرَكَ الذَّاكِرُوْنَ وَغَفَلَ عَنْ ذِكْرِكَ الْغَافِلُوْنَ.

O Allāh, send the most excellent blessings upon the most blessed of Your creation — the Full Moon of the Night, our master Muḥammad — and upon his family and companions, and grant them peace, to the number of what You know and as the ink of Your words, every time the rememberers remember You and the heedless are heedless of Your remembrance.

وَرَضِيَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَنْ سَادَاتِنَا أَصْحَابِ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ أَجْمَعِيْنَ. وَحَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيْلُ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْمِ.

May Allāh — Blessed and Exalted — be pleased with all our masters, the companions of the Messenger of Allāh. Allāh is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. There is no power and no strength except through Allāh, the Most High, the Most Great.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الْعَظِيْمَ.

I seek forgiveness from Allāh the Most Great.

أَفْضَلُ الذِّكْرِ: لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ.

The best of remembrance: There is no god but Allāh.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ.

There is no god but Allāh.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ — لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ.

There is no god but Allāh — there is no god but Allāh.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ — مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ.

There is no god but Allāh — Muḥammad is the Messenger of Allāh.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ — مُحَمَّدٌ حَبِيْبُ اللهِ.

There is no god but Allāh — Muḥammad is the Beloved of Allāh.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ — عَلَى النَّبِيِّ سَلَامُ اللهِ.

There is no god but Allāh — upon the Prophet be the peace of Allāh.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ — اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمْ.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad — O Allāh, bless him and grant him peace.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمْ.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad — O my Lord, bless him and grant him peace.

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ.

Glory be to Allāh, and praise be to Him.

يَا اَللهُ.

O Allāh.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ.

I seek forgiveness from Allāh.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الْعَظِيْمَ، تَائِبُوْنَ إِلَى اللهِ.

I seek forgiveness from Allāh the Most Great; we turn in repentance to Allāh.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى حَبِيْبِكَ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلِّمْ.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Your Beloved, our master Muḥammad, and upon his family and companions, and grant them peace.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى حَبِيْبِكَ وَرَسُوْلِكَ سَيِّدِنَا وَمَوْلَانَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَبَارِكْ وَسَلِّمْ.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Your Beloved and Your Messenger, our master and protector Muḥammad, and upon his family and companions, and bless them and grant them peace.

اَلْفَاتِحَةُ — إِلَى أَرْوَاحِ مَنِ اجْتَمَعْنَا هَٰهُنَا بِسَبَبِهِمْ، اَلْفَاتِحَةَ.

Al-Fātiḥah — to the souls of those on whose account we have gathered here, [recite] Al-Fātiḥah.
